Perhaps the past year has brought grief, stress, or big life changes. You want to turn toward each other in hard moments, but instead there’s a distance that leaves you hurt and confused, but unsure of how to reconnect.
Maybe one or both of you are carrying the impact of past trauma — and you’re not sure how to support each other when those old wounds get activated and suddenly your relationship feels on edge.
Your relationship with your partner can be one of the most intimate, meaningful, and safe connections in your life.
It can also stir up your messiest emotions, bring out confusing or unexpected behaviors, and demand effort, care, and investment that can feel incredibly hard.
The couples I work with are just like you - thoughtful, caring people who want this to work and are trying their best, yet feel so frustrated that they can’t get this relationship that is so important to them to feel better.
Most of us were never actually taught how to do the hard stuff that a healthy, committed partnership requires of us — how to stay connected through conflict, how to take up space and ask for what we need, how to vulnerably own when we’ve messed up, and how to turn toward the person we love when inside our impulse is to shut down or hide.
In our work together, I create the space to slow these moments down and find your way back to each other. Together we can begin to go into the conversations and feelings that can be too hard to navigate on your own—so you can rebuild a sense of safety, understand each other more deeply, and begin co-creating the kind of partnership you both want to be in.
